Nvidia to invest 3 Md$ in Meta, a new signal of the AI frenzy

The American semiconductor manufacturer Nvidia plans to invest 3 Md$ in a share issuance by Mark Zuckerberg’s group, Meta. Announced on October 27, 2026, this operation accompanies the expansion of their technology partnership around Muse, Meta’s family of artificial intelligence models. It comes as the group continues developing its assistants and AI agents, programs capable of chaining multiple tasks, whose demand for compute power keeps growing.

  • Nvidia plans to invest 3 billion dollars in a share issuance by Meta.
  • The deal expands their partnership around Muse, Meta’s AI model family.
  • Both companies will work to improve training and inference performance.
  • Meta has raised its potential equity financing plan to 97.5 billion dollars.

Meta leans more on Nvidia infrastructure

The two companies plan to work together on improving the performance of training and inference of Muse models. Training enables models to learn from data, while inference refers to their use to generate responses or perform tasks. Meta also intends to expand the deployment of Nvidia technologies in its data centers.

The group plans, among other things, to use Vera Rubin platforms and Vera processors, as well as Spectrum-X Ethernet and BlueField-4 networking solutions. The goal is to optimise infrastructure performance and control operating costs. However, the companies have not disclosed a precise timeline, the number of systems involved, nor deployment sites for the Vera Rubin and Vera platforms. The concrete scale of this expansion therefore remains to be specified.

The two groups also consider exploring further collaborations around OpenShell, a reference architecture for agent deployment, and Sentry, a tool for monitoring their behavior. This work remains distinct from deployments already announced.

A major financing operation

For Meta, Muse is part of a strategy aimed at developing personalized assistants and models capable of handling more tasks. The group seeks to strengthen its capabilities in a market where technology players are investing heavily in models, software and the infrastructure needed for their operation.

Nvidia’s investment is part of a significant financing operation by Meta. On October 26, the group raised the potential amount of its equity financing plan to 97,5 Md$, according to Reuters. This amount groups several distinct operations. Meta plans to raise 25 Md$ through a Class A common stock offering and 12,5 Md$ via convertible preferred securities, i.e., 37,5 Md$ of initial offerings. Added to this is a separate share‑issuance programme that could reach 60 Md$, which Meta intends to launch after the start of trading of its Class C shares, expected in the first quarter of 2027.
